This course aims to develop students' ability to write a master's thesis in English. Course content will cover the language conventions and organization structures that meet the convention of applied linguistics and TESOL. Students will learn thesis writing through reading and analyzing research articles as well as writing and revising their own work. Upon completing this course, students will be able to a) be familiar with the organization of a thesis, b) include appropriate information elements in each section of a thesis, c) use correct grammar, appropriate vocabulary, and stylistic structures to communicate ideas effectively in a thesis, and d) critically review and revise their written drafts.
course attendance and class participation: 20 % Genre Analysis: 15% Generic sentence patterns: 15% writing assignments: 40% final presentation: 10%
