With the understanding that the ultimate goal of neuroscience research is to explore the biological basis of human behavior, we will venture into high levels of cortical function starting from learning and memory, surf in the mysteries of chemical and genetic control of behavior, and finish up the course with discussion of clinically important neuropsychiatric disorders. The students are expected to learn how coordinate brain activity in different neural circuits controls the complexity of human behavior.
This course intends to introduce students to the exciting and challenging world of modern neuroscience.
