"A Computational Journey Towards Humanities and Creativity" are a series of courses held in a combination of lectures and workshops, guiding students step-by-step through theory and practice to develop hardcore interdisciplinary abilities. The first half of this semester will begin with a variety of computational ideas and frameworks, e.g., Ant Colony Optimization, Artificial Neural Network, Genetic Algorithm, etc., based on learning from or imitating natural phenomena, followed by applications in the field of arts, humanities and creativity. In the second half, students will use the computational frameworks they have learned to carry out their artistic and humanities creative projects. To further explore the application of natural computing in creativity, "Introduction to Counterpoint in the Sixteenth Century", a two-week micro-course, is offered in the first half of the semester. Since Counterpoint has a fundamental role in the polyphonic music, this would be a great opportunity for those who are interested in polyphonic music writing to acquire basic knowledge through this micro-course. Computational thinking is a key competence of interdisciplinary workers in the 21st century, and it has a variety of possibilities when it extends to the fields of art, humanity, and creativity. This course is designed to guide students to become future talents equipped with trainings in both computational thinking and humanities and will be taught by teachers with distinctive expertise in theory and practice. Each semester different topics are selected to stimulate students' ability of interdisciplinary thinking and practice. Possessing the readiness of tools and literacy, students will be able to face the challenges of interdisciplinary creativity on the higher level.
