This module introduces students to some of the basic concepts of scheduling. It aims to be a foundation course. The topics include single machine scheduling, parallel machine scheduling, flexible flow shops, and Job Shops. Besides the basic concepts, the students will also learn the applications of these topics to complex engineering and management problems. (使學生對排程的理論與相關應用有基本的了解)

However, exams and individual assignments must be done individually. Each individual must develop the final formulation, computer model, and/or homework separately. All suspected cases of academic misconduct will be reported. 本課程鼓勵修課同學間針對學習內容與進度互相討論,但各項作業與考試必須獨力完成。任何有抄襲或作弊嫌疑之情事,一律送交學校生輔組學生獎懲委員會判斷與處理。
Homework學期作業: There will be 3 individual homework assignments. 上課指定該次作業,並配合助教習作課講解與討論。 Exams考試狀況: There are one midterm exam: Close book. One help sheet (A4 size, 210mm × 297mm, both sides) of handwritten notes (neither photocopied nor printed) is allowed for each exam. With the obvious exception of severe medical or other emergencies, there will be no exams given other than the announced dates and times. 計有一次期中考試,為關書測驗; 每次測驗可以攜帶一張A4尺寸手寫之幫助紙。 除特殊醫療狀況外,不得補考。 Grading評量方法: (1) Homework (學期作業): 30%; (2) Midterm Examination (期中考):40%; (3) Term paper (期末報告): 30%
