This course is to introduce the principles of color technology and their applications in design of multimedia devices. The color technology covers human vision system, color matching, colorimetry, color space conversion, and measurement etc. The understanding of these principles can lead to a better color and image performance in the design of color image devices, such as digital camera, printer, and LCD display, etc. The design theory, system architecture, digital color image processing, and image quality evaluation for individual device will also be introduced in this course. The current development in the LED white light illumination will also be discussed.

1. Final report (30%) (Each group with 2 to 3 persons. The content of report should relate to this course and should base on one or several SCI papers. You should turn in your title of report, group list and SCI papers you’d like to report to me by the14th week of this semester.) 2. The assignment will be published on e-campus 3.0
