This lecture will introduce the theorem of Earth gravity field for geodetic reference. The lecture starts with the fundamental theorem of gravity and vector integral. Through the properties of Newton's attraction law, the Earth gravity/potential field can be modeled by Laplace's equation, moreover, the leveling data, gravitational and other geodetic observation are the boundary value. By way of the property of continuation carried by the harmonic solution, the determination of geoidal elevation can be solved in the form of Green's integral. This lecture will also cover the issue of implementation of elevation reference systems.
