This one-credit course is meant to give students practice English presentation in front of an audience for the topics of their own choosing academic papers published in recent three years. Students will organize their own presentations using a PPT file for other students and a lecturer. The topics should be an aspect of physical chemistry and must be approved by the lecturer in advance (meet deadline). As a matter of course, you must not give your presentation similar to what you have already delivered in another class. To help students improve as speakers, each student will receive feedback from fellow students and the instructor. After your seminar, summarize the questions you received and send me the PPT you used.

No need

Select 3-5 academic papers in an aspect of physical chemistry. These papers should be published in the recent three years of 2019-2021. The selected papers must be sent to me by noon of ONE WEEK before your presentation day to check the contents. Also, prepare PowerPoint for your presentation, and arrange for any types of equipment if you require it. The presentation duration is set at about 30-minute presentations, followed by question time. Tell a complete story about your chosen topic to be thoroughly familiar with the paper on your topic. Explain all the concepts clearly, and define all terms and acronyms. Be prepared to answer questions after your presentation. Your final grade will be determined by several factors: the quality and content of your presentation, your participation in the class as a whole, and your ability to meet scheduled deadlines.
