Course Descriptions: Overall, this course is meant to provide an introductory overview to the topics of Organizational Behavior – the study of individual and group behavior in organizational settings. The goal of this course is to familiarize students with current research and practice concerning the people’s cognition and behavior at work. In this course, we will read empirical and theoretical works as well as practical cases that are related to Organizational Behavior. Objectives: 1. To gain broad understanding of field of Organizational Behavior (OB) 2. Identify key OB themes in the workplace 3. Apply key OB theories to work settings
Required competence or courses that must be previously taken by students: Graduate Students
• Class attendance – Students are expected to attend all class sessions. • Weekly readings - Students are expected to read all assigned materials before coming to class. • Discussions - Students are expected to be prepared to discuss all assigned readings in class. It is expected that everyone will express their opinion, provide arguments, and respond to each discussion question. I will value and respect everyone's opinion and I will expect everyone else to act in the same manner. We should work hard to build an atmosphere of genuine interest and curiosity where everyone feels compelled to speak their mind. • Pedagogy and other supplementary information (websites, TAs, handouts and/or databases): All class information will be posted on the class blackboard (e3). Remarks: 1、 The instructor reserves the right to change the course schedule to accommodate course material or other circumstances. Announcements about such changes will be posted on E3 Blackboard 2、 Do not use pirated textbooks.
