生物統計學

This course is designed for graduate students who have little knowledge on biostatistics. Emphases are on basic understanding of biostatistics and its applications in the field of physical therapy research. Though it is designed for beginners of biostatistics, the course also covers some advanced statistical methods which are commonly used in physical therapy research. In addition to the knowledge of statistical methodology, the course puts emphasis on building up practical skill on statistical analysis and interpreting the results. Therefore, the course is organized with a mixture of lecture and computer practice mainly by using SPSS.

The course objectives are (1)To orient students to the role of statistics in biomedical science, particularly in physical therapy research; (2)To introduce students to various statistical methods and to selection of appropriate methods for specific research needs; (3)To provide students with opportunities to develop basic statistical analytical skills using statistical software and ability of interpreting results.

本課程規劃時數為18週 (含學期中、末評量),每週2小時,上課方式以演講、文獻閱讀,以及習題電腦實習操作方式進行之。本課程之學習成效評量方式包括課堂習題與期中、期末考試等。Course evaluation includes computer exercise, mid-term exam, and final exam.
