本課程特別設計供有志深入健康大數據研究及發表文章於國際知名期刊的學生選修。課程包含介紹健保資料庫結構、如何選擇研究主題、研究設計、統計分析、資料比較及配對、偏差及干擾因子、論文草稿撰寫等大數據相關研究核心方法學。課程的後半部,學生亦將有機會學習其他不同大數據資料研究的經驗分享,課程最後,將由學生提出研究構想於課程中進行報告,研究構想並將於課堂中有進一步的研究設計及方法學的評讀及討論。本課程採全英文進行。 本堂課程的特定目標如下: 一、建立健康大數據研究的基本核心能力。 二、建立健康大數據研究計畫提出的必須知識與能力。 三、建立在頂尖國際雜誌發表健康大數據研究成果的能力。This course is specifically designed for students who have interest to conduct health big data research, and published papers in outstanding scientific journals. Serial lecturers regarding the NHIRD database structure, research topics selection, study design, statistical analyses, comparability and matching, bias and confounders, and manuscript writing, etc. will be the core elements of this course. In the second half of this course, students will have opportunity to explore other type big data research. Finally, students will be asked to propose their own big data study proposals, and the proposals will be critically appraised and discussed during the courses. The specific aims are as follows. First, establish the basic understanding of big data research methodologies. Second, establish the necessary knowledge and ability to propose NHIRD research protocols. Third, enhance students’ capability to publish research articles in outstanding international journals. The whole courses will be conducted in English.

課堂參與討論、期中研究計畫上台報告、期末的研究計畫(3-5頁),將分別佔學期成績的20%、40%、40%。 學期末,吳教授將邀請最好的三個期末研究計畫一起合作,希望能夠發表於頂尖醫學雜誌。Participating in the class discussion, proposal presentation in the workshops, and the final proposals (3-5 pages) will contribute to 20%, 40%, and 40% of final scores, respectively. In the end of this course, Professor Wu will select the best 3 proposals and collaborate together to make these proposals published in top-ranking journals.
