Solving many types of engineering problems requires an appreciation of variability and some understanding of how to use both descriptive and analytical tools in dealing with variability. Statistics is concerned with variability and its impact on decision making. This is an introductory course in engineering statistics. We focus on meeting the needs of engineering students by allowing them to concentrate on the applications of statistics to their disciplines. Consequently, examples and exercises are engineering based, and in almost all cases, we have used a real problem setting or the data either from a published source or from consulting experience.
Calculus.
1. By the e-mail "20220514陽明交大防疫通報 NYCU Epidemic Prevention Announcement" from our university on May 14, remote learning for this course will be from May 16 to the end of this semester. Lecture mp4 files (Sections 5-7, 6-1, and 6-2) and the pdf file for homework 3 will be uploaded to the e3 digital teaching platform later on. Please study the uploaded mp4 files for this course by yourself from May 16 to the end of this semester. If you have any questions about this course, please send an e-mail to me or either teaching assistant, or just come to my or teaching assistants' office during office hour. 2. The teaching materials are mainly extracted from Chapters 1 ~ 6 of the textbook. 3. It is strongly recommended to buy the textbook for your better study of this course! 4. Please do not print out any materials relevant to the textbook whose copyright is by Wiley!

Homework Assignments 2: 10 Exercises selected from Sections 5-2 ~ 5-6; due at 3:10 p.m. on Monday, May 23, 2022 (the 15th week). 3. Homework Assignments 3: 2 Exercises selected from Section 6-2; due at 3:10 p.m. on Monday, June 13, 2022 (the 18th week). 考試部份: None. 評量部份: 1. Homework Assignments 1: 30%. 2.
