Quality group presentation required. 請大家慎重思考後再選,謝謝! In this course, we will examine the ideas of fashion, textiles and the body in medieval English, French, and Latin literature. We will chart our way through the European clothing styles of different social classes between the 8th and 15th centuries, via literary works in different genres including romances, religious poems, and treatises, to explore the longstanding, intertwined relationship between text and textile, word and object in medieval art and literature. Syllabus uploaded here is only a tentative one. Finalized syllabus available in hard copies in W1.
