Signal and Systems is a fundamental course for further studies in various electrical engineering fields, such as signal processing, communication systems, control systems, and circuit design, not to say its application in many other science and engineering fields. This course introduces some fundamental mathematical concepts and tools that are often used in the analysis and design of continuous-time and discrete-time signals and systems. MATLAB computer assignments are included to help students acquire an in-depth understanding of the key concepts.
1. 微積分(大學層次)。(Calculus [college level].) 2. 線性代數(大學層次)。(Linear Algebra [college level].) 3. 微分方程。Differential Equations.) 4. 運用複數的能力(如電路學等課程中之所需,通常無須修過複變函數)。(Ability to work with complex numbers, such as that needed in Circuit Theory, etc., which you normally should be able to acquire without taking Complex Variables.) 5. 電路學。(Circuit Theory.)

(1) The course will be conducted as a regular lecture course. There will be homework assignments, and we plan to have three exams. (2) Details of the grading method will be described in the course notes and announced in the first lecture.
- (Chapter numbers given below are that in the textbook.) 1. Introduction (Chap. 1) 2. Time-domain representations of linear time-invariant systems (Chap. 2) 3. Fourier representations of signals and linear time-invariant systems (Chap. 3) 4. More concepts about Fourier representations (Chap. 4) 5. The Laplace transform (Chap. 6) 6. The z-transform (Chap. 7)
