概述

The purpose of this course is to provide a basic background in materials science and engineering. It will cover atomic bonding, crystal structures, diffusion, phase diagram, different types of materials. The properties of materials, such as metal, ceramics, polymer, ceramics, and composites will be introduced. Also, this course will cover materials in energy applications and other fields in science and technology.

Advanced knowledge in chemistry, physics, and materials science; Lectures will be taught in English.

教學方式

Lecture notes will be provided to students in class or via a teaching website by the instructor.

評分方式

Students are required to attend the scheduled lectures. Weekly homework assignments for presentation, an exam, and a term project are based on practically applicable concepts in industries. Grade method: Discussion and participation in class: 5% Presentation of weekly homework assignments and lab reports: 30% In-class midterm exam: 25% Term project (presentation and report): 40% Total: 100%
