Waveguides and general structures for signal transmission (microstrip lines, differential pairs, and planar transmission media of any kind) at RF frequencies and above are essential interconnects to guarantee proper system performance. Various applications such as the interconnects of flip-chip packages require precise design and analysis of signal transmission structures to make sure minimum signal reflection. In this course, we will start with the review of fundamentals related to electromagnetics. The design, analysis and operation principles of various signal transmission structures will also be discussed in detail.
