While learners study a language, they are expected to be able to learn the most with the awareness of their learning autonomy and the willingness to express themselves actively in learning processes. Thus, based on that, this class will help students improve skills necessary for better successful English communication, listening, reading, writing and speaking, through the use of English as the medium of instruction, the use of DVD / CD, and other classroom interactive activities. Freshman English II is an integrated course with an emphasis on reading and writing. This course will address reading and paragraph writing while supporting the communicative skills addressed in the first semester. In this course, students will (1) Practice and improve speaking, listening, and reading higher level English dealing with more mature or controversial subjects, (2) Fluency English communication skills to fit in this multi-cultural world, which may help them to have better plans for their both foreign and domestic further study, (3)Develop critical reading skills, (4) Engage in reflection on readings, (5) Apply insights gained from readings, (6) Orally paraphrase and summarize texts, and reflect on the texts in oral discussion, (7) Write complete paragraphs with topic sentences, relevant supporting details, transition words, and concluding sentences, (8) Continue to develop listening and speaking skills.
Students need intermediate level of English proficiency.
