概述

* 本課程為「同步視訊遠距」:前半學期,陽明校區實體上課(教學大樓 YT301)、交大校區遠距上課(綜合一館 AB102);下半學期互換。 我們生活在一個科技臃腫的時代,不時擔憂科技的危險,卻又無法捨棄科技帶來的好處。面對身不由己的兩難,我們需要系統性的視野與觀點。這門課是台灣大專院校唯一的技術哲學課程,引介當代技術哲學的代表思想與著作,帶領同學深入理解並探索技術、人類、社會三者的複雜關係,並培養解析和思考科技現象的能力。鑑於荷蘭與台灣相似,國土狹小且缺乏資源,我們特別聚焦荷蘭學派(Dutch School)的作品,以為相互參照與學習的座標。我們也會特別討論「設計」在現今社會中扮演的角色,讓同學領會技術哲學的落地與實用之處。 註: 1)這門課首次開設是在 2021 年的 Summer School 全國夏季學院,獲得 4.87/5 接近滿分評價,這學期正式移師陽明交大。 2)下方每週進度表因系統問題有誤,確實進度請見課程網站。 3)課程網站:https://course-nycu.hungching.com/ 4)歡迎碩、博士生選修。 Philosophy of Technology has been emerging and developing as an independent field of philosophical inquiry and has close relationship with STS. This course will give a broad but also in-depth introduction to the philosophy of technology, both historically and thematically. In the first part (one seminar), we will read Heidegger as the main philosopher who is the ancestor of the field and whose idea is categorized as the classical philosophy of technology. Then in the second part (four seminars), we will turn to the early stage of the contemporary philosophy of technology, during which the insights of STS had helped its growth. This stage is called the "empirical turn", which has shaped the close relationship between the philosophy of technology and STS since 1990s. In the third part (five seminars), we will discuss several important works in the field nowadays, each of which deals with a specific issue concerning technological design. In this part, the insights of other fields, such as politically philosophy, psychology, and art theory, will come in as well, by which we can see how the philosophy of technology and those fields enrich one another.

教學方式

1) 幫助同學理解科技與人類社會各種面向的關係; 2) 培養同學系統分析和解讀複雜科技現象的眼光; 3) 建立同學透過設計技術來改善台灣社會的能力; 4) 訓練同學掌握文本、上台簡報、寫作論證技巧。 Among the goals of this course are to help students: 1. gain a philosophical understanding of the role of technology in our age; 2. relate our own particular lived experiences with technology to the philosophical concepts; 3. acquire skills in navigating challenging philosophical texts; and 4. obtain abilities in analyzing the dynamic relations between human, society, and technology.
