研究專論

The seminar is a forum for students to explore with their peers research problem development, theoretical foundations and methodology to launch their dissertation research. The main purpose of this course is to provide socialization to doctoral study and the research environment for students. It is designed to provide on-going dialogue among students and faculty related to doctoral study through class discussion. This course will also provide the student with opportunities to practice preparing and giving an oral presentation. The students are encouraged to conduct the presentation in English.

Upon completion of the course, the students will able to: 1. Search and select influential research papers appropriate for a given area of inquiry 2. Read and present scientific papers logically 3. Perform a critical appraisal of the evidence 4. Synthesize knowledge relevant to a self-selected phenomenon or construct 5. Analyze conceptual and empirical definitions of a selected phenomenon 6. Analyze model/theories that explains the influence of construct of interest 7. Organize the content appropriate for the topic of presentation 8. Deliver an oral presentation that effectively communicates to the audience with the use of proper visual aids.
