本課程屬1學分初階課程,透過講課與討論的方式進行。 課程內容 一,介紹疫苗學的基本要素和概念。 二,介紹疫苗的歷史與最新的發展。 三,從疫苗產業的角度來了解疫苗。 四,疫苗研發之臨床前試驗、人體試驗、及法規登記 五,從公共衛生、全球衛生治理的角度來談疫苗。 六,探討公費疫苗政策的制定過程及其議題。 七,概論疫苗發展的挑戰,以及未來的展望。 預期成果 學生對疫苗相關領域有比較全面的認識,並啟發學生運用此基礎,或投身於疫苗相關的研究。 This is a 1-credit course, delivered through lectures and in-class discussions. The course will cover the following topics: 1. Introduction to applied vaccinology: basic elements and concepts 2. From the history of vaccination to recent advances in vaccine development 3. Vaccine industry and good manufacturing practices (onsite visit to Medigen Vaccine Company – Hsinchu) 4. Vaccine development: from preclinical, clinical, to regulatory approval 5. The implication of vaccine on public health and global health 6. Public vaccine policy decision-making, frameworks and issues 7. Advanced topics
疫苗學是新冠肺炎全球大流行下,被注目並快速發展的領域。本課程旨在領學生入門,一窺疫苗研發的歷史及當前發展、了解產業的角度、或從政府的角度了解公費疫苗的決策過程,並探討其在全球衛生實務的衍生議題。Applied vaccinology is a fast-growing field under the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. This course aims to introduce 1) the history and development of vaccines 2) the vaccines industry 3) policy decision-making on public vaccination 4) vaccines implication in global health.
