Course Objective The major objective is to provide students with a basic understanding of the principles of statistical and mathematical modeling, including benchmark dose (BMD), probabilistic analysis (Monte Carlo simulation), pharmacokinetics (PK)/toxicokinetics (TK), pharmacodynamics (PD)/toxicodynamics (TD), and physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK). Also, to promote students to understand how these models/methods are applied in risk assessment. Course Description Through teaching and practical exercises, students will discover how mathematical concepts help us conduct the various components of health risk assessment and understand the applications of mathematical modeling to various study sciences, including toxicology, human health, and pharmacology.
