This course adopts media economics to understand media as economic institutions. Media economists believe that economic and financial concerns are central to understanding communication systems and organizations, and how public policies regarding communications are formed. This course is to analyze the economic parameters of media industries, particularly the new media. This semester will specifically introduce how OTT video is evolving as an industry by considering the history, development, and theoretical orientations.
