The course is designed to introduce students to academic writing. By reading and analyzing paragraphs and essays among various disciplines, students will explore the elements and organization of different types of writing. Through the process of peer-editing and revision, students will learn to write more clearly and coherently.
1. Attendance and class participation 10% 2. Writing assignments 45% 3. Peer editing 15% 4. Midterm in-class writing 10% 5. Vocabulary homework 10% 6. Final in-class writing 10% Twenty percent off the grade for late submission of any homework. Four days after a deadline, another 20 percent off the grade.
