This course is designed to help non-English major students develop English sentence structure and paragraph-level academic writing skills. A variety of rhetorical skills and grammatical supports is presented while all reading passages, exercises, and writing tasks feature current and general academic topics. The teacher's instruction includes familiarizing students with sentence structures, paragraph organizations, and evaluating their writings. The students need to practice the rhetorical skills, analyze the sample readings, and are encouraged to communicate their ideas in group brainstorming. The assignments help them master the essential grammar necessary for well-formed sentences and for specific paragraph organizations. Each student is recommended to book at least ONE online writing consultation at NYCU Self-study Center of LTRC. For detail, please refer to the Self-study Center at Library 3F.
