We focus on studying the changes in the relationship between "perception" and "decision-making" in the past, present, and future. Project-based learning is leveraged in this course. Through the course design, I hope students can learn from the past and suggest next-generation intelligent systems. We use "Intelligent Driving Systems," "Robot Manipulation," and "Robot Navigation" as the applications to verify the theories and techniques learned in the class.
Programming (C/C++/Python), Linear Algebra, Probability, Computer Vision, and Machine Learning
The goal is to introduce the concepts of "perception" and "decision making" in intelligent systems. We design the following activities for students to learn the concepts: 1. Lectures: The instructor will deliver fundamental concepts of "perception" and "decision making" used in the three applications. 2. Paper presentation: select a topic from intelligent driving systems, robot navigation, and manipulation, identify a paper from top-tier conferences (a reference list will be provided), and present the paper. 3. Four Computer Assignments: In these assignments, you will implement key components to enable indoor robot navigation. 4. Course Project: In the first week of the course, we will form groups (2-3 people per group). Each group will select a topic from "Intelligent Driving Systems," "Robot Navigation," and "Robot Manipulation" and develop a course from there. In the middle and end of the semester, each group is expected to deliver midterm and final presentations. Additionally, a report (3-4 pages double column) is expected. 注意事項: 第一次上課(9/1 3)請務必出席,或找代理人幫你決定組別。不然如果你沒分組,我會幫你退選讓其他人加選。
Course Assignment: 50% (4 assignments) Paper Presentation: 20% Each group (2-3 people) will give a paper presentation for 20 mins + Q&A. Course Project (per group): 30% Mid and Final Presentation: 15% (5% and 10%, respectively) Final Report: 15%
