The purposes of establishing Transportation Policy are to provide the nation with a smooth development platform and efficient transportation means for the people and goods under existing and future natural resource constraints and societal evolution patterns. The main contents of this course include: 1) transportation policy analysis, 2) Connected and Autonomous Vehicle (CAV), 3) Shared Mobility (SM), 4) Electric Vehicle (EV), and 5) Mobility as a Service (MaaS). The aims of this course are to provide the enrolled students with knowledge about the transportation policy establishment process, policy directions, and best practices in transportation technology developments. This course is designed to cultivate graduate students with forward-looking viewpoints toward national transportation policies and an understanding of the most up-to-date developments of transportation technology in the international community.
1. Fundamentals of Transportation 2. Introduction to Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)
Pedagogy and other supplementary information (websites, TAs, handouts and/or databases): the instructor will be preparing the handouts for each topic of the course outline, supplementary materials in terms of academic papers and research reports will be periodically distributed.
1. Homework and Assignments: group reports and term paper preparations are the main assignments during the semester. 2. Exams and Quizzes: None. 3. Evaluation and Grading Policy: the final grade will be evaluated by the following components: 1) assignments (20%), 2) term project proposal (20%), 3) term project progress report (30%), 4) term project final report (30%).
