概述

This course aims to develop students' listening, speaking, reading, and writing in a selected English novel. One of the CEFL B2 to C1 level English novels will be introduced to students. The genre of novels will include classic literature, cultural and social issues, crime, thriller, mystery, science, and fantasy. Students are expected to participate in discussions on the assigned readings each week. Students will write a reading response as homework each week. Further, students will develop skills of reading and analysis of the novel and improve their presentation and critical thinking skills on the novel we will read in class. This course will bring the joy of reading to students and help students develop their proficiencies in reading, listening, speaking, and writing skills in English.

ATTENTION!! You MUST be present on the first day of class or you will be dropped from the course. This course is for (CEFR: B2 to C1) students. The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is an international standard for describing language ability. It describes language ability on a six-point scale, from A1 for beginners, up to C2 for those who have mastered a language.
