- Writing/communication skills are a function of (KNOWLEDGE, PRACTICE, talent). In this course we focus on establishing the foundational KNOWLEDGE of writing/speaking through intensive PRACTICE via group/individual presentations on diverse topics. - The goal is to equip students with the necessary mindset (mentality & strategy) and skill set (design & delivery) of writing/presentations that are essential for future academic and personal success.
All teaching activities and assignments will be conducted via Google Classroom.
1. I don’t like ppl using cell phones in class (unless you are looking up for info for class activities). 2. I provide detailed & customized feedback on your presentations. The goal is not to criticize you, so do not associate the comments with your identity. My objective is to help you grow into a successful professional in whatever career you choose to pursue, so don't be a snowflake.
1. [35%] 2-minute elevator speech practice (7 in total, 5% each) 2. [20%] Mid-term presentation (=10% peer evaluation + 15% instructor's evaluation) 3. [5%] Post-it workshop 4. [15%] Dry-run for the final presentation 5. [25%] Final presentation (=10% peer evaluation + 15% instructor's evaluation)

I do not use textbooks. Lecture slides and handouts will be provided for each lecture session.
