Course Description: This class provides students with an introduction to principal concepts and methods of fluid mechanics. Topics covered in the course include Ch1-pressure, hydrostatics, and buoyancy; Ch2-Bernoulli equation; Ch3-control volume analysis; Ch4-Continuity equation; Ch5-momentum conservation for moving fluids; Ch6-energy equation; and Ch7-dimensional analysis and similitude. Objective: Students will work to develop the problem-solving skill essential to good engineering practice of fluid mechanics in practical applications.
