概述
本課程介紹人類與動物關係的重要歷史、社會及文化議題,務使同學能重新思考自己個人、社會與動物的關係。 授課語言為英語,並因應學生需要及內容輔以中文講解。 This course introduces the modern histories of human-animal relationship and the related socio-cultural issues. It is intended to enable students to reconsider the relationship between self, society and animal. This course is conducted in English and supplemented with Chinese.

課堂報告:30% Oral Presentation: 30% 期末論文:70% Term Paper: 70% 同學選取本課程其中一個主題,分析個人與某種動物的經驗,同時要參考至少三篇相關的學術性文章。 Students choose one of the themes of this course to analyse their personal experience about a particular kind of animals. Making references to at least 3 academic articles is required. (論文可以選擇以中文或英文撰寫) English: 2,500-4,000 words Chinese: 3,500-5000 words 作業指引 1. 撰寫一個或一些關於你或你的家人/朋友與動物的故事,最好環繞著一個主題,最好是你熟悉甚至有經歷的事。例如,我提供的範例,就是我父親及我家在1970-80年代中養貓的故事,當中涉及一種與今天「人-寵物」關係不一樣的樣貌。盡量提供多一點細節,以備之後的分析及討論。 2. 字數建議在2,000-3,000字之間 3. 如果可能,請提供一張照片。 4. 請於4/17或之前遞交。 5. 故事寫好後,再環繞著這個主題找一些相關的參考資料(至少要有三份),然後,再分析一下你之前所寫的故事,看看是否可以有一種新的觀點或看法。(範例我們稍後提供) 6. 最後定稿請於6/20或之前遞交。
