At the completion of the course, student will be able to: 1. describe the principles of qualitative research and how they may differ from those of quantitative research. 2. employ a range of qualitative research designs, data collection methods, and analytical approaches. 3. understand ethical issues in conducting qualitative research. 4. critically appraise qualitative research publications. This course will provide a basic introduction to qualitative methods in health research. It is intended for graduate students with limited or no prior knowledge of qualitative methods. As a practice-oriented course, it will equip students with the knowledge and skills to appropriately design, plan and appraise qualitative research in international or global health.
A. Ability to identify and communicate global health and environmental health issues. C. Ability to use research methodology and statistical analysis D. Ability to care for socially disadvantaged population and identify emerging global health issues. E. Ability to provide culturally appropriate public health strategies.
