Course Overview: Cancer Cell Biology is a graduate course that will expose students to the fundamental principles of oncology and cell biology, focusing on the cellular and molecular processes that govern cancer onset, progression, and treatment. This course emphasizes the genetic, epigenetic, cellular, and environmental factors in the development and progression of cancer, incorporating a wide variety of topics ranging from oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes to cancer metabolism and tumor microenvironment. This course will also introduce the application of molecular biology, cell-based techniques, and animal models in cancer research. Through lectures, case studies, and problem-based learning (PBL) reports, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of cancer biology, helping to prepare them for future research or clinical practice in oncology. Course Objectives: 1. Introduction to fundamental concepts and key processes in cancer cell biology 2. Familiarization with the biological hallmarks of cancer cells 3. Enhancement of students' understanding of cancer detection, diagnosis, and treatment options 4. Acquisition of practical skills in cancer research methods through problem-based learning (PBL) reports 5. Fostering of students' scientific speaking and writing skills

No specific prerequisites are required for this course. However, a basic understanding of biology, genetics, and cell biology would be beneficial. Proficiency in scientific reading, writing, and critical thinking skills are also important for successful completion of the course.
