本課程為科技與社會研究所學生第一學年之必修課程。本課程提供STS研究入門的知識地圖,系統性地介紹STS研究領域的歷史傳承、重要文獻、學科最新發展,以及相關的新興研究議題。本課程引導同學們了解STS研究的基本問題意識,並掌握STS研究的主要研究取徑。

每次由任課老師對課程單元作綜合性介紹,學生輪流負責報告該週指定的教材。每位修課同學應在上課前將該週指定教材閱讀完畢,於上課前繳交1-2個問題,並於課堂上踴躍參與討論。每週負責報告閱讀文獻之同學,另需繳交該文獻之摘要(一頁以內)。
參與討論與課堂導讀:佔40% 期中報告與期末報告: 佔60 %
