醫藥化學(一)

Outline: Medicinal chemistry is the basic knowledge essential for modern drug discovery and development. For students (especially the Ph.D. students) of our Institute, this course is the advance of Biopharmaceutical Sciences and Trends in New Drug Development which will be taught in two semesters and the contents are primarily based on the arrangement of the main textbook (i.e., Foye’s Principles of Medicinal Chemistry). Topics including the relationship between functional groups and pharmacological activity of various drugs, drug design via molecular modeling, receptors and drug action, drug design through enzyme inhibition, pharmaceutical biotechnology, and bioactive natural products etc will be taught during the first half of the first semester. And topics such as physiochemical and biopharmaceutical properties of drug substances & pharmacokinetics, drug metabolism, drugs affecting cholinergic and adrenergic neurotransmission, amino acid neurotransmitters in the CNS, hypnotics and sedatives, serotonin receptors and antidepressants, and anesthetics will be taught in the second half of this semester.
