"Reinforced Concrete Design" is a required course for civil engineering students and a necessary background for any structural engineer practicing anywhere on this planet. The course introduces the principles and methods of design for reinforced concrete structures according to the limit states design approach which is at the core of most contemporary design codes. Subsequently, it discusses how to design various reinforced concrete members, including slabs, beams, columns, and beam-column joints for the ultimate (safety) and serviceability limit states (deflection and cracking).
