Fundamentals of Systems Engineering (SE) introduces students to a modern and logical method of managing the development and life-cycle of complex projects and products. The objectives of SE include: simplifying development process, minimizing risks and the study of different paths from concepts to final product.
Prerequisite: • Basic algebra, calculus. • Basic coding in C++, Matlab, Python or others. • Technical graphing ability (via coding or Excel). • CAD proficiency optional but recommended. • Prior experience with technical or other project optional but recommended.
The course will combine lectures from the textbook, with in-class discussions, student-led studies and presentations, as well as projects.
Subject to changes: Midterm 1 : 20% Midterm 2: 20% Project 1: 20% Project 2: 20% Class participations: 20%.
