英文閱讀與討論

This course aims to advance students' reading and speaking skills. Students will further develop reading skills (e.g., identifying main ideas, details, making inferences, and note-taking) through less simplified and authentic materials. Students will also develop speaking skills through a variety of interactive activites. By the end of the course, students will learn to: 1. comprehend reading materials which cover more specialized or sophisticated topics. 2. identify and analyze points of view, arguments, or implicit information in the material. 3. learn to summarize and respond to reading materials in proper speaking (e.g., a summary, reflection passage, or short essay).

Students need upper-intermediate level of English proficiency.

Students who take this course need to be aware that it is mandatory to attend most sessions. The scores will be evaluated upon the following criteria: Attendance (10%) Participation (40%) Mid-term Exam (25%) Final Exam (25%)
