物理(一)

This course provides an introduction to classical physics and thermodynamics for science and engineering students. The objective is to build the necessary physics foundation and acquaint students with the principles governing the physical world.

A voluntary preparatory crash-course is offered on September 9 and 10. Students are invited to attend this mathematics preparatory course for physics I. The purpose of this preparatory course is threefold: 1) We will review the high-school math necessary for Physics I so that all students can start from essentially the same level. 2) We will learn how to name mathematical operations in English and get accustomed with our teacher's pronunciation. 3) We will discuss studying techniques that hopefully will prove useful beyond Physics I. The preparatory course will take place on September 09 and September 10 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm in room SC158 of Science Building 3. Lunch will be provided. The material is covered in many textbooks, for example: -Physics for Scientists and Engineers by Serway and Jewett -Fundamentals of Physics by Halliday, Resnick, and Walker -Lectures on Physics by Feynman, Leyton, and Sands. This is a popular three-volume set known as "The Feynman lectures". Most of the material of this course is contained in volume I - Physics by Alonso and Finn
