概述

This course includes the contents listed below, to let students of radiation sciences and/or those who are interested in learning the radiation biology obtain the critical knowledge of this discipline. 1. 游離輻射之物理化學特性與生物反應 (The physics and chemistry of ionizing radiation on biological responses) 2. DNA傷害與修補 (DNA damage and repair) 3. 存活曲線 (Survival Curves) 4. 游離輻射種類、能量、相對生物效應與氧氣 (LET, RBE and OER) 5. 輻射增敏與增益效應 (Radiosensitivity and radioresistance) 6. 急性暴露與輻射傷害評估 (Acute radiation syndrome and evaluation of radiation damage in clinics) 7. 分次照射與劑量率效應 (Fractionation radiation and dose-rate effect) 8. 細胞週期效應 (Cell cycle effect of radiation) 9. 輻射致癌作用及白內障 (Radiation carcinogenesis and cataract) 10. 輻射致遺傳與胚胎效應 (Heritable effect and embryonic effect) 11. 輻射生物學研究方法與癌症生物學 (The methods for radiation biological research and cancer biology) 12. 正常組織與腫瘤組織之劑量反應關係 (The dose-response relationship of normal tissues and tumors) 13. 腫瘤動力學與分次治療, BED估算 (Tumor kinetics, fractionation, and evaluation of biological effectiveness dose) 14. 腫瘤缺氧效應 (Tumor hypoxia and therapy)

教學方式

This course introduces how the physicochemical properties of ionizing radiation affect biological and pathophysiological responses, and how these responses lead to damage at different levels, including cell death, mutation, carcinogenesis, radiation resistance, embryonic and genetic effects in vitro and in vivo etc., and how to describe the cell survival curve for these injuries, as the basis for tumor treatment plan, especially for the basis of radiotherapy.
