選擇性內放射治療

選擇性內部放射治療(Selective Internal Radiation Therapy, SIRT)為動脈內微近距離放射治療,是一種用於介入放射學治療肝癌的放射治療形式,也稱為經動脈放射栓塞術(Transarterial Radioembolization, TARE)。它通常適用於手術無法切除的癌症患者,尤其是肝細胞癌或肝轉移癌患者。該治療包括將微小的放射性物質微球注射到為腫瘤供血的動脈中,這些微球會停留在腫瘤的小血管中。由於這種治療將放射治療與栓塞相結合,因此稱為放射栓塞(Radioembolization, RE)。本課程旨在簡要回顧肝臟選擇性內部放射治療的當前臨床狀況和挑戰,並概述用不同放射性核素的優缺點。 Selective internal radiation therapy (SIRT), is a form of radiation therapy used in interventional radiology to treat liver cancer with intra-arterial microbrachytherapy, also known as transarterial radioembolization (TARE). It is generally for selected patients with surgically unresectable cancers, especially hepatocellular carcinoma or metastasis to the liver. The treatment involves injecting tiny microspheres of radioactive material into the arteries that supply the tumor, where the spheres lodge in the small vessels of the tumor. Because this treatment combines radiotherapy with embolization, it is called radioembolization. This class aims to briefly review the current clinical status and challenges in liver radioembolization therapy as well as to outline the advantages and disadvantages of different radionuclides used for this purpose.
