This course will offer a comprehensive introduction to complex variable theory and its applications to engineering and science. We will make frequent use of analogies from calculus or advanced calculus to introduce complex concepts, including fully worked examples, and provide a dual heuristic/analytic discussion of all topics. Topics include: Complex Numbers and Elementary Functions, Analytic Functions, Complex Integration, Series Representations for Analytic Functions, Residue Theory, Conformal Mapping, The Transforms of Applied Mathematics.
