Course Descriptions and Objectives: Based on the knowledge of financial accounting, the primary emphasis of this course is to benefit students who will learn how to analyze companies' financial statements and develop a basis for marking reasonable valuation estimates. To meet these objectives, students will be exposed to general tools of financial analysis, theoretical concepts, and practical valuation issue. "You have to understand accounting and you have to understand the nuances of accounting. It's the language of business and it's an imperfect language, but unless you are willing to put in the effort to learn accounting - how to read and interpret financial statements - you can't know anything about business yourself." - Warren Buffett
Evaluation and Grading Policy: 1. Class participation: 20% 2. Midterm exam: 40% 4. Group project &presentation: 40%
