The is a one semester course that aims to provide students with essential knowledge on fundamental aspects of physics. You will find that this is more useful than you thought. Many important concepts in modern physics require a good understanding of classical mechanics such as variational principle, Euler-Lagrange equations, and Hamilton-Jacobi theory, etc. The following topics will be covered. Variational Principles and Lagrange's Equations The Central Force Problem The Kinematics of Rigid Body Motion Oscillations The Hamiltonian Equations of Motion Canonical Transformations Hamilton-Jacobi Theory and Action Angle Variables Introduction to Lagrangian and Hamiltonian Formulations for Continuous Systems and Fields
General physics, differential equations, and linear algebra
