概述

This is not an English course. This course will teach, hands on, how to design and create a scientific figure, write its caption, and then write a journal/conference paper or a thesis. The course will teach the whole journal paper submission process, requirements etc to equip the students with all the resources and knowledge required for paper publication

先修科目

Basic English usage; Reading; Writing; Must have some data (experimental/theoretical/simulation etc) to create scientific figures for the project (thesis, paper, conference, etc). First year freshman can attend but should have data of their own to make at least 2-3 figures.

教學方式

Teaching Assistant: Varun Sridhar (varunsimha123@gmail.com) Teaching Board work for 8 weeks; Project (1:1) 8 weeks. Assignment: Homework and Classwork.

評分方式

Evaluation: Assignment- 20%, Presence in class: 10 %, Final project-70% Emergency leave only. Leave needs to be applied online, in advance, for approval.

第 10 週	Writing your first manuscript Finalizing Figure Design/Caption
第 11 週	Writing your first manuscript Template for manuscript provided-Start Experimental; Get info on machines/softwares/theory used
第 12 週	Writing your first manuscript: Results-Discussion: hands on Assistance (discuss/learn from teacher/TA)
第 13 週	Writing your first manuscript: Introduction, Abstract, Referencing
第 14 週	Polishing and Feedback: Proof reading; Use of AI;
第 15 週	Corrections: As per check list (provided); Cover letter; Table of Contents/graphical abstract preparation.
第 16 週	Final Project submission: Check list confirmation with the teacher/TA.
