1. While formal attendance records are not maintained, it is highly recommended that you communicate any anticipated absences to me in advance. This courtesy allows for better classroom management and ensures you receive any necessary information or materials you might miss. 2. You must complete all required assessments for the course. Please note that this requirement stands even if you are absent in classes where assignments are distributed or discussed. You are responsible for acquiring the assignment details and submitting your work according to the established deadlines. 3. Students requiring accommodations due to a disability must submit an accommodation plan for approval. Please provide your proposed plan before the due date of the first class assignment. It's important to make arrangements early to ensure that all necessary supports are in place. 4. As a rule, late submissions will not be accepted. If you anticipate the need for a delayed submission due to unavoidable circumstances, you must inform me at least one week before the assignment's due date. Exceptions will be considered case-by-case for unforeseen personal health emergencies or family crises. 5. Students are encouraged to use AI tools for support in areas such as grammatical proofreading, word choice optimization, and sentence structure improvement. However, the primary ideas and supporting arguments must be original and authored by the student, not generated by AI. For example, if you are required to summarize an article for a particular assignment, you are not allowed to ask AI to summarize it for you. If AI tools are used, students must provide a transparent disclosure, including a detailed footnote on the first page of the assignment. This footnote should specify how the AI was utilized and include the exact prompt(s) used. Failure to disclose the use of AI tools will be considered a violation of academic integrity and will result in the assignment not being evaluated.
