The primary goals are 1. To build physical pictures of electromagnetics. 2. To know and apply the mathematical tools to solve electromagnetic problems. 3. To know connections of electromagnetics to current science and technology. This undergraduate course provides an introduction to electromagnetics. We will learn the mathematical tool vector analysis for this course. We use mathematical tools to describe the relations between electric field(potential) and static charges. We then discuss how to describe electric field inside matters. Analogously, we learn how to describe magnetic fields under steady currents and discuss how to formulate magnetic fields inside matter. We turn to the cases when both charges and currents are dynamical and construct the complete Maxwell's Equations. We will discuss the physical meaning of Maxwell's Equations. I will give a broad view of applications of electromagnetics.
