(posted on 8/21/2024) Because the Tuesday class in the third week is the mid-autumn festival and the school is closed on that day, the 2-hour Tuesday class will be given at the noon from 12:15 to 13:05 on both Wednesday and Thursday in the third week. The classroom is the same and at EDB27. Notice!!! (posted on 6/5/2024) Because in 2024 Fall, Prof. Wang will be in the U.S. during the first and second weeks of the semester, the first class of this course will start in the third week of the semester and the last class of this course will be given in the 18th week of the semester. That is, the whole course will be postponed by two weeks. ---------------------------------------- The goals of this course: Study the design, implementation, and performance of computer networks. Topics include the protocols between layer 2 and layer 7 of the network protocol stack. In this course, you will: 1. Learn what computer networks are 2. Learn how they work today 3. Learn why they are designed the way they are 4. Learn how they are likely to evolve in the future
