This course mainly provides a systematic introduction to the neural basis of mental function. It includes state-of-the-art research from experimental work performed with humans and animals, as well as findings from clinical populations. It also tries to provide a balanced, synthesized, and integrated view of what we know both about the brain and about cognition. In addition, I also aims to provide these views in accessible prose that will excite students to think critically about the potential of cognitive neuroscience to yield new insights.
課程中除了基礎神經科學以及神經影像研究方法學單元之外,其餘的單元需要同學輪流導讀。導讀的方式為自選一個單元,閱讀完後準備簡報檔,並在課堂上口頭報告,並接受同學或老師的提問。為方便同學們的準備工作,老師將提供各單元的簡報公版,供同學們使用。
