概述
To introduce the operating principles of and develop the students with analytical and design skills for microwave passive circuits/components.

Midterm and final exams: each 40%, Quiz: 20%.
課程大綱
- Introduction to transmission line theory, telegraphist's equation, and Smith chart
- Introduction to waveguides, planar transmission lines, and their dispersive behavior
- Introduction to S parameters, properties of Z, Y, T, S matrices, and matrix conversions
- Design of impedance matching by Smith chart
- Introduction to lumped-element and transmission-line resonators
- Introduction to matrix properties of the 3-port and 4-port networks, resistive and Wilkinson power dividers, branch-line and rat-race hybrids, coupled-line couplers, multi-section couplers
- Introduction to periodic structures, filter analysis and synthesis
