This course is an intermediate-level EM course preparation for applied EM. It provides theoretical basis for a better understanding of wave propagation in inhomogeneous and anisotropic media, and scattered by dielectric objects. Subjects to be covered Introduction Fundamental Field Equations Waves in Inhomogeneous and Layered Media Green's Functions Wave Propagation in Anisotropic Media Scattering of Waves by Conducting and Dielectric Objects
1. Undergraduate electromagnetics 2. Mathematical tools: Vector calculus, Differential equations
Mix of lecture slides, transparencies, and blackboard writing
