The goal of the course is to understand the main characteristics and differences of public transport networks. This includes their various performance criteria based on different perspectives and stakeholders, as well as the most relevant decision-making problems from a planning, tactical, and operational point of view. By the end of this course, students are expected to be able to critically analyze existing public transport networks, their design and usage; consider and substantiate possible improvements to these networks and their management; and optimize the use of resources in public transport.
